(World News) Amid rising global conflicts, growing inequalities, and challenges posed by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has emphasized the increasing importance of dialogue and mutual understanding.

(World News) In his message marking the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations, Guterres stated that the world is currently passing through a period of instability and transformation. Conflicts continue in many regions, economic and social inequalities are widening, and new technologies – from artificial intelligence to clean energy – are raising significant questions about humanity’s future.

(World News) He further noted that cultural, religious, and national differences are often misunderstood or misused to weaken global unity. However, he stressed that dialogue remains the most effective way to overcome such challenges. “Dialogue among nations, cultures, and religions is the key to building cooperation and trust,” Guterres said.
On the occasion of the observance, which is being celebrated for the second time this year, he praised the United Nations’ Alliance of Civilizations initiative. According to him, the initiative works to bridge divides among countries, societies, and cultures while transforming diversity into a source of strength.
Guterres also stated that meaningful change begins with open minds and open hearts. At a time when the international order is facing severe tests, dialogue has the power to bring people together once again. He emphasized that dialogue remains the most effective path toward building a more just and peaceful world.
The United Nations’ message has once again underscored the importance of dialogue in promoting global peace, coexistence, and cultural harmony.
