Women: Nobel to Korean writer Han Kang

Women South Korean writer Han Kang has been awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize for Literature. This honor is given for his poetic prose. Some of his books are The Vegetarian, The White Book, Human Acts, The White Book and Greek Lessons.

     Han Kang was born in 1970 in Gwangju, South Korea. 53-year-old Han Kang hails from a literary family. His father is also a famous novelist.

According to the Nobel committee, the honor is being awarded to Han Kang for his “profound poetic prose that highlights the trauma of history and the fragility of human life.” The novel ‘The Vegetarian’ is a devastating portrayal of patriarchal oppression and women’s resistance in Korean society. Han Kang is being congratulated everywhere.
