Ahmednagar News The Human Rights Campaign, CSRDS (Society for Social Work and Research), and the Assistant Commissioner’s Office, Social Welfare Department, in collaboration with like-minded organizations, institutions, colleges, and social activists from the district, are organizing a Constitution Awareness Festival in Ahmednagar city on Tuesday, November 26th, on the occasion of Constitution Day.
While providing more details, the Regional President of the Human Rights Campaign, Adv. Santosh Gaikwad, stated that Constitution Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year through the Human Rights Campaign. This year marks the 7th edition of the festival. This year, Human Rights Campaign, along with all progressive organizations and institutions in Ahmednagar, is committed to celebrating Constitution Day on a grand scale.
As part of the festival, a Constitution Rally will be held, and from November 26th (Constitution Day) to December 10th (Human Rights Day), a ‘Constitution Awareness Fortnight’ will be celebrated. To promote the Constitution, various events such as the Constitution Awareness Rath (chariot), street plays, Constitution songs, awareness lectures, discussions, and promotion of government schemes will be organized, as shared by Pravin Korgantiwar from the Assistant Commissioner’s Office, Social Welfare Department.
The chief guest for the Constitution Awareness Festival, senior social activist Ashok Sabban, stated that the festival will take place on Tuesday, November 26th, from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A grand Constitution Awareness Rally will be organized through the city. The route of the rally will be from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue – Mahatma Phule statue – Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar statue – CSRDS College, where the rally will conclude.
The lecture at CSRDS College will be guided by Dr. Prakash Pawar, Vice-Principal of Ferguson College, Pune. Senior Constitution expert and propagator Subhash Ware will preside over the program. The chief guests at the event will include District Collector Siddharam Salimath, District Police Superintendent Rakesh Ola, Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare Pravin Korgantiwar, and CSRDS Director Dr. Suresh Pathare.
Sabban, the event’s welcome president, urged that maximum participation be encouraged from institutions, organizations, college students, and social activists in the Constitution Awareness Rally to contribute towards the preservation of the Indian Constitution.
