(Education) Free school bags were distributed to needy local students through a joint initiative by the Helping Hands Foundation and social worker Bhalchandra Usgaonkar. The support, provided at the beginning of the new academic year, brought smiles to students’ faces, while parents also expressed satisfaction.
(Education) The event was attended by Bhiku Gauns, Deputy Collector of North Goa, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Madhu Narvekar, Sunandabai Bandodkar, principal Roshan Agarwadekar, Electricity Department Executive Engineer Subhash Kurtikar, Social Welfare Department officer Deu Gavde, along with Dattaram Tari, Molu Velip, representatives of the foundation, local parents, and citizens.
(Education) During the programme, many deserving and underprivileged students from grades 5 to 10 received attractive and quality school bags from dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Collector Bhiku Gauns emphasized the importance of such social initiatives in strengthening the foundation of education. He said that the primary objective behind the initiative was to ensure that no student’s education is interrupted due to financial difficulties and that every child receives an opportunity for quality education.
Chief Officer Madhu Narvekar noted that, during a period of rising inflation, such initiatives help reduce the financial burden on parents. He also praised the social contributions of Bhalchandra Usgaonkar.
Principal Roshan Agarwadekar encouraged students to make the most of this opportunity and excel in education. Students and parents expressed happiness upon receiving the new school bags.
The programme was hosted by Chidanand Madkaikar, while organizers concluded by thanking dignitaries, parents, and attendees.
