Simple Government Ceremony… Shiv Devotees Celebrate with Enthusiasm

(Culture) On May 16, the state government installed a sculpture of “Budhbhushan Granth Creator Chhatrapati Shri Sambhaji Maharaj” at the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Garden in Pune through a formal ceremony. Despite being considered a historically significant and proud occasion, dissatisfaction was reportedly expressed among Shiv devotees over the absence of a large public celebration by the government.
(Culture) Against this backdrop, the Sambhaji Brigade, along with Shiv-Shambhu followers, celebrated an enthusiastic “Anandotsav” (festival of joy). The area echoed with drum performances, celebrations, fireworks, and slogans.
(Culture) During the event, several dignitaries highlighted the bravery, scholarship, and literary contribution of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, particularly his historic work Budhbhushan. Individuals and organizations that contributed to the installation of the sculpture were also socially honored during the program.
Speakers at the event stated that Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was not only a courageous warrior but also a highly learned scholar, Sanskrit expert, and literary figure. They emphasized that the Budhbhushan text represents an intellectual foundation in Maratha history and that preserving and honoring such historical memorials is a collective social responsibility.
The program witnessed large participation from Shiv-Shambhu followers, social activists, history enthusiasts, and citizens. The Anandotsav in Pune was described as a reflection of the public’s immense respect and pride for Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
