(Education) Rohit Pawar, MLA from Karjat-Jamkhed, has been appointed as the North Divisional President of the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha. The appointment was announced by the institution’s president, Sharad Pawar. Previously, the position was held by Ashutosh Kale, a leader of the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party.
The North Division of the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha includes schools and colleges across the Ahilyanagar district and surrounding areas. The divisional office is also based in Ahmednagar city, and several old and important educational institutions in the district fall under its jurisdiction. Therefore, the post is considered institutionally and politically significant.
(Education) Recently, the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha announced its new executive committee, with Sharad Pawar re-elected as president and several key organizational changes introduced. Against this backdrop, responsibility for the North Division has now been entrusted to Rohit Pawar.
(Education) Rohit Pawar has been actively involved in the institution’s executive body for several years. Through this new role, he will now oversee a broad region stretching from Karjat to Kopargaon. In recent times, discussions around his dissatisfaction within the party had gained momentum. Against that backdrop, assigning him an important responsibility in the institution has sparked fresh political discussions.
