Women | ‘Anti-Superstition Women’s Conference’ in Sangamner to Free Women from the Grip of Blind Faith

(Women) To raise awareness about the exploitation, mental and financial abuse, and social consequences faced by women due to superstition, black magic, and fraudulent spiritual practices, an Anti-Superstition Women’s Conference has been organized jointly by Jagrut Mahila Manch and Lokpanchayat.

(Women) The conference will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Matoshri Mangal Karyalaya, Akole Bypass, Sangamner.

(Women) Eminent speakers from various fields will guide participants during the conference. H.B.P. Shyamsundar Sonnar Maharaj will speak on the topic “Scientific Thinking as Taught by Saints.” H.B.P. Jyotitai Jadhav will discuss how women become trapped in the network of fraudulent godmen. Meanwhile, Vishal Vimal from Pune will speak on “The Tricks of the Fraudulent Spiritual World.” He is an activist of the Anti-Superstition Committee and an organizer of Vivekvasa Foundation.
During the event, individuals working fearlessly toward social awareness will be specially honored. Senior journalist Sudhir Lanke will be recognized for anti-superstition reporting, while Adv. Ranjana Gavande will be honored for fearless social work against fraudulent practices.
Important discussions, demonstrations, and guidance sessions will also be conducted at the conference. Topics include understanding fraudulent practices behind tantriks, fake godmen, and spirit possession claims; the Anti-Black Magic Law and the role of police machinery; promoting scientific thinking among women at the village level; live demonstrations and exposure of fraudulent practices; and women’s liberation from exploitative systems.
The organizers have appealed to members of Jagrut Mahila Manch, women from self-help groups, women Gram Panchayat members, adolescent girls, and social workers from Sangamner and Akole talukas to participate in large numbers.
