Research focuses on the social, economic, and cultural study of the Dashnam Gosavi community

(Sujata Puri PhD) Sujata Navnath Puri, Assistant Teacher at the Zilla Parishad Marathi School, Pimpalgaon Malvi, and a noted poet and author, has been awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. Her remarkable academic achievement has been widely appreciated across educational, literary, and social circles.
(Sujata Puri PhD) Dr. Puri completed her doctoral research on “A Socio-Economic and Cultural Study of the Dashnam Gosavi Community: With Special Reference to Ahmednagar District.” Her research was guided by Dr. Dilip Maske of Ambajogai Women’s College. She also completed the thesis under the academic guidance of Dr. Laxman Salok, President of the Marathi Sociology Council at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.
(Sujata Puri PhD) Notably, Dr. Sujata Puri has become the only serving woman teacher in the Ahilyanagar Zilla Parishad to earn a PhD, making her achievement a matter of pride for the district’s educational community.
Apart from academics, Dr. Puri is an active literary figure. Her published works include the poetry collection “Rutu Antariche” and the essay collection “Vatevarchya Mashali.” She has also had the distinction of presenting her poems for four consecutive years at the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Kavi Sammelan, becoming the only poet from Ahilyanagar district to achieve this honour.
