The YouTube Premiere of ‘Dindi | Way of Life,’ an observational Marathi short film presented by Rayat Chitra Films, will take place tomorrow, Saturday, July 25, at 7:00 AM, on the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi. Viewers have been invited to watch the short film during the premiere and experience its calm, realistic and observational portrayal of equality, community and human values embedded in the Warkari tradition.
The film attempts to present the idea of ‘Pandharichi Wari: A Rich Way of Life Based on Equality’ through direct observation, without artificial drama, acting or excessive narration. With a runtime of just 3 minutes and 8 seconds, the film showcases the beauty of the Warkari tradition and the collective journey through a single continuous shot.
The short film has been conceptualised, produced and directed by Bhairavnath Chandrabhaga Tukaram Wakale. The entire filming, editing and mastering process was completed using a Samsung Galaxy S24 FE smartphone. The production also conveys the message that meaningful and quality filmmaking is possible even with limited resources.
Set against the backdrop of the Agasti Rishi Sansthan Dindi of Akole in Ahilyanagar district, the short film seeks to take the cultural heritage and collective values of the Warkari tradition to audiences across the world. It may also provide an excellent opportunity for students of filmmaking to study the visual language of observational cinema.
