(VIP news) A thought conference on Comrade Annabhau Sathe was held at the Krantiveer Barde Guruji Memorial in Vategaon, presided over by veteran thinker Dr. Bharat Patankar.
(VIP news) Dr. Patankar announced that a state-level committee would be formed to submit a memorandum to the government regarding the construction of a grand memorial for Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe at Vategaon. He stressed that the memorial, being built with significant government support, must genuinely reflect Annabhau’s life, struggles, stories, songs, and his community.
(VIP news) He emphasized that Annabhau Sathe was not only a powerful voice for the Samyukta Maharashtra movement but also a literary icon whose works highlighted the struggles of the working class and reached global audiences.
The event began with a ritual tribute to Annabhau Sathe’s portrait, followed by vibrant folk performances by Shahirs Sadashiv Nikam and Rafique Patel.
Speakers like Ravindra Barde, Adv. Com. Subhash Lande, Com. Atul Dighe, Achyut Mane, Laxman Mane, Dr. Sharad Gaikwad, Rama Gorakh, Com. Ram Baheti, and Bhai Digambar Kamble offered their insights on Annabhau Sathe’s enduring legacy.
A resolution was proposed by Dhanaji Gurav, opened for discussion, and passed unanimously. The event was compered by Milind Patsute, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Yogesh Sathe.
