Social | Chhavani Alumni Gathering Concludes Successfully; Two-Day Intellectual Discourse at SaneGuruji Memorial

(Social) The Chhavani Yuva Snehmelava (Youth Alumni Gathering) was successfully held with great enthusiasm on June 28 and 29, 2025, at the Sane Guruji National Memorial in Wadghar, Mangaon. Former participants from Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri, and Nanded attended in large numbers.

(Social) The program began with a poetry recitation by poet Neerja. The session was chaired by Rakesh Gaikwad, while Rajesh Kulkarni and chief guest Sandesh Kulkarni graced the occasion. The introductory address was delivered by Rajanbhai Indulkar, and Adv. Vijay Diwane anchored the proceedings.

(Social) The gathering was not merely a reunion but a thought-provoking platform that awakened social consciousness and helped define the direction for future work. Participating activists introduced their work and engaged in open discussions about the challenges they faced and possible solutions.

As the identity of the memorial is rooted in progressive thought, the platform aimed to instill a sense of social responsibility and method of action among the younger generation. In the second session, after the reading of Neerja’s poem “Sanskriti” (Culture), working president Rajesh Kulkarni inaugurated a new forum.

Ashutosh Shirke presented six guiding principles of social work: service, struggle, awareness, dialogue, creation, and elections—emphasizing their importance and urging every activist to understand and fulfill their responsibilities.

In the evening cultural session, Daksha Rupwate performed powerful movement songs such as “Abhalachi Lekare,” “Sahu Peti Mashaal,” and “Padu Chalare.” Sudarshan Chakale accompanied the performance with the traditional Duff instrument.

The second day began with the recitation of Sane Guruji’s prayer “Khara To Ekachi Dharm” (Truth is the Only Religion). In the first session, Ashutosh Shirke explained how social justice can be pursued through the collective efforts of public organizations, gram panchayats, institutions, and researchers.

The second session focused on how activists could contribute as volunteers at the memorial. Shuklodhan Gaikwad, Ajay Bhosale, Deepak Sonawane, Daksha Rupwate, Sudarshan Chakale, Vinayak Salunkhe, and Rakesh Gaikwad expressed their views.

In the session, the President of the Memorial, Pramod Nigudkar, remarked, “While dealing with issues, it is important to recognize both our limitations and strengths.”

In the final session, journalist Ameya Tirodkar offered guidance on politics, social work, and the role of activists, and also addressed the questions and concerns raised by the attendees.

Madhuritai Patil (Treasurer) and former working president Rajanbhai Indulkar were present at the event. The two-day program was coordinated by journalist Ashwini Satav and Adv. Vijay Diwane.

The gathering proved to be a fresh beginning, filling the participants with new enthusiasm and energy for their journey ahead.
