(Ahilyanagar News) The Maharashtra Bird Enthusiasts’ Conference is scheduled to be held on February 1 and 2, 2025, at the New Arts, Commerce, and Science College in Shevgaon. In preparation for the event, a meeting was convened at the New Arts, Commerce, and Science College in Ahmednagar to facilitate discussions and planning among bird enthusiasts in the district.
(Ahilyanagar News) The meeting was chaired by senior nature expert and advisor to the Maharashtra Bird Enthusiasts’ Association, Bapusaheb Bhosale. Present at the meeting were the principal of the host college, Dr. Purushottam Kunde, along with members of the district’s Birding Plus Group and Nisarg Mitra Mandal Group.
During his welcome speech, Dr. Kunde elaborated on the role of the college as the event organizer and announced the establishment of a permanent Art Gallery in the college, which would be open to students and nature lovers alike. Discussions during the meeting saw active participation from Bapusaheb Bhosale, Rajendra Prasad Swami, Vijay Devchake, Rishikesh Lande, Rahul Viladkar, Bhairawnath Wakale, Jayaram Satpute, and Amol Tathe.
Several individuals, including Swami Rajendra Prasad, Vijay Manohar Devchake, Vilas Patil, Dr. Ravikant Pacharne, Rishikesh Pardeshi, Tushar Lahare, Prof. Amol Arjun Tathe, and Dr. Usha Sherkhane, head of the zoology department, were also present. Discussions revolved around bird conservation, environmental protection, and the upcoming conference’s preparations.
Participants shared their insights and experiences on bird preservation and explored ways to raise awareness. Plans were finalized for organizing various competitions for secondary school and college students, including a district-level “Reel Competition” on the theme of “Local Birds,” spearheaded by Rahul Viladkar.
Prof. Sachin Pawar expressed gratitude on behalf of the organizers, stating that this meeting would be instrumental in ensuring the success of the Maharashtra Bird Enthusiasts’ Conference.
