The Communist Party of India has started preparations to contest elections in 16 constituencies in the state in the background of the upcoming assembly elections. The proposal of these 16 seats by the leaders of the CPI was approved by the leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Met Sharad Pawar. At this time, the CPI leaders demanded that the Maha Vikas Aghadi should consider these 16 seats while allocating seats for the elections and leave the remaining seats to the Communist Party of India.
At the Yashwantrao Chavan Center in Mumbai, Maha Vikas Aghadi leader Mr. Sharad Pawar’s National Secretary of the Communist Party of India Bhalchandra Kanago and State Secretary Com.Adv.Subhash Lande met. National leader of the party Com.Sukumar Damle, State Joint Secretary Com.Raju Desale, State Secretary Board Member Com.Sham Kale, Mumbai Secretary Com.Milind Ranade, Com.Ashok Suryavanshi were present along with him.
On this occasion, it was demanded that the CPI should propose 16 seats in the state and participate in the Maha Vikas Aghadi by giving due respect to all the left parties including the CPI while discussing seat distribution. Responding positively to this, Mr.Pawar said that the rightful respect of the left parties will be maintained.
Meanwhile, the Communist Party of India has launched a nationwide campaign to demand a caste-wise census and increase the 50 percent limit for reservation. Within this, caste-wise census conferences are being held in every district of Maharashtra, and a state-wide caste-wise census conference has been organized by the CPI in Kolhapur on September 6. Mr.Sharad Pawar was invited for this conference.
