Police Medal Assistant Police Commissioner Sandeep Mitke, of the Crime Branch in the city police force, has been awarded the ‘Union Home Minister’s Vigilance Medal.’ Sandeep Mitke has made significant contributions in areas such as Ahmednagar city, the Economic Offenses Branch, Shrirampur, Shirdi, and Shevgaon. He has played a vital role in solving many complex, sensitive, and intricate cases in Ahmednagar district.
He received the ‘Union Home Minister’s Vigilance Medal’ for his exceptional investigation of a sensitive case in Shrirampur. During the COVID period, he went beyond his police duties in Ahmednagar city to assist citizens in need. He helped protect many workers and their families in the MIDC area from unemployment and provided them with direct support. In Shevgaon, he skillfully handled a riot situation, apprehending the accused. He made a significant contribution in uprooting the prostitution network in Shirdi. He was previously honored with the Police Director General’s Badge of Honor as well. Along with ACP Mitke, eleven officers in the state were awarded the Union Home Minister’s Vigilance Medal for excellence in investigation. ACP Mitke has been congratulated from across the state, including Ahmednagar and Nashik.
