(Rto) People who have purchased vehicles through loans no longer need to visit the local RTO office to remove the loan hypothecation. The process has now gone fully online under the central government’s new faceless service initiative. Once an application is submitted through the RTO’s Vahan system, the respective bank will send a no-objection certificate (NOC) directly to the RTO. This saves both time and paperwork for vehicle owners.

(Rto) Earlier, after repaying a vehicle loan, citizens had to obtain a certificate from the bank and submit it physically at the RTO office. Only then was the loan removal recorded, and a new RC book issued. Now, this entire procedure is digital.

(Rto) During the online application, an OTP will be sent to the applicant’s Aadhaar-linked mobile number for verification. Once the names in Aadhaar and RTO records are matched, the bank will notify the RTO through the Vahan system about the loan clearance.

The Transport Department has integrated the Vahan platform with 35 to 40 banks across the country, making the faceless facility accessible to a majority of vehicle loan customers.
