(press) Students of the BJMC (Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication) program from CSRD & ISWR, part of Bhaskar Pandurang Hivale Education Societies, visited Lokmat Media House for a study tour. They were welcomed by Sudhir Lanke, the head of Ahmednagar Lokmat, who provided detailed insights into the functioning of various journalism-related departments.
(press) Under the guidance of the institution’s director, Dr. Suresh Pathare, such study tours are organized to give students hands-on experience of media operations. During the visit, department head Sayali Torne explained various aspects of the media industry, and students got a firsthand look at the newsroom’s working environment.
Sudhir Lanke introduced the students to working journalists, sub-editors, advertisement representatives, and the engineering team. He explained how news is gathered from the field, the editorial process it undergoes, and how it is finalized for publication before reaching readers in the morning.
The students also met Lokmat team members, including Sudam Deshmukh, Anna Navthar, Arun Navthar, Chandrakant Shelke, and Dikkar, along with other journalists, sub-editors, engineers, and proofreaders. They all extended their best wishes to the journalism students for a successful career.
Students who participated in the study tour included Pankaj Gundecha, Deepak Shirsath, Maryam Sayyed, Esther, Emmanuel, Jose, Rasika Chawla, Navnath Magar, and Bahirinath Wakale.
