(Politics) The Sarpanch of Chichondi Patil, Sharad Khandu Pawar, has been disqualified from his post due to proven cases of encroachment. The decisive order was passed by District Collector Dr. Pankaj Ashiya, sparking strong reactions in the village.

(Politics) Former Panchayat Samiti member and District President of Bharatiya Jansansad, Sudhir Bhadre, revealed that a few years ago, Sarpanch Pawar had set up a pavilion on the public road at the ST stand for Ganesh festival. However, instead of removing it after the festival, he constructed a permanent shed and started an office under the name Hari Om Real Estate. Further, unauthorized construction on temple trust land and misuse of a public road for tying cattle also came to light during the inquiry.

(Politics) Based on villagers’ complaints, an inquiry officer was appointed who confirmed the encroachments in his report to the District Collector. In an attempt to save his position, Pawar even produced false documents claiming no encroachment. However, after hearing arguments from both sides and verifying the evidence, Dr. Ashiya ruled him disqualified for the post of Sarpanch.
Advocates Sachin Changdev Ithape and Ranjit Pandurang Takate represented the villagers, ensuring that justice prevailed.
