Srigonda | 28 September | Ashok Honrao
Politics With the upcoming assembly elections drawing near, the Mahavikas Aghadi, under the leadership of the esteemed Sharad Chandra Pawar Saheb, will present a capable candidate. That candidate will have a place in our hearts, said State President Jayant Patil while addressing a gathering in Srigonda, without directly naming former MLA Rahul Jagtap.
Jayant Patil was speaking at a meeting of the Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) Shivswarajya Yatra, held late Thursday night in the Shri Sant Sheikh Mohammed Maharaj Courtyard. Senior leader Babasaheb Bhos presided over the event. Also present were MP Amol Kolhe, Nilesh Lanka, and former MLA Rahul Jagtap, who all expressed their views.
During the meeting, MP Amol Kolhe sharply criticized the BJP government at the Centre, accusing it of failing to address the problems of farmers, the unemployed youth, and the general public. Kolhe claimed that instead of providing real solutions, the BJP government has been deceiving those loyal to Sharad Pawar. He cited the plight of the Kukdi Sugar Factory in Srigonda taluka as a prime example, alleging that the Centre assisted struggling factories across other states but refused to help Kukdi Sugar Factory. According to Kolhe, Rahul Jagtap remained steadfast, refusing to bend despite the Centre’s denial of ₹120 crore in aid from NCDC (National Cooperative Development Corporation). He pointed out that the financial difficulties of the Kukdi factory have indirectly hurt farmers, and questioned whether the BJP government would provide an answer when they come seeking votes. He urged voters to demand accountability from the BJP on these issues.
Kolhe emphasized that the upcoming election is a crucial test. He called upon voters to elect a government that would serve the interests of farmers, support unemployed youth, and provide justice to the common people, in line with the principles of respected Pawar Saheb. Kolhe appealed to the voters to reflect seriously and make an informed decision in the coming elections.
Former NCP MLA and current aspiring candidate Rahul Jagtap, addressing the gathering, dismissed rumors about the Kukdi factory being in distress. He assured the audience that the issues would be resolved between October 5th and 10th with the help of Sharad Pawar Saheb, and that all farmers’ debts would be cleared. His announcement was met with thunderous applause. Jagtap confidently stated that the Mahavikas Aghadi candidate would win the upcoming assembly election by a margin of over 50,000 votes.
In his remarks, Nilesh Lanka thanked the voters of Srigonda constituency for their overwhelming support and expressed his gratitude for the love and majority votes received.
Several senior activists, loyal to Sharad Pawar, along with Rajendra Pipada and other dignitaries, were present on the stage. NCP Taluka President Haridas Shirke welcomed the attendees and extended a vote of thanks.
