(Dirty Politics) The Christian community has strongly alleged that Gopichand Padalkar, MLA from Jat, made extremely provocative, insulting, and violence-inciting statements against Christian religious leaders at a public event. It is reported that during a speech in Sangli, he openly declared a reward of ₹11 lakh for anyone who kills Christian religious leaders.

The community has expressed that such remarks threaten social harmony and the constitutional principle of coexistence.
(Dirty Politics) Communit yponse, a meeting of various churches, institutions, religious leaders, and representatives of the Christian community was held on June 25 at 3 PM at the Bishop House in Tarakpur. During the meeting, it was decided to submit a memorandum to the District Collector Dr. Pankaj Ashiya and District Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge on June 26, coinciding with the observance of Social Justice Day.
The meeting began with a prayer led by Rev. Adv. D.B. Kasote, followed by a scripture reading from Matthew 5:01–12 by Rev. J.R. Waghmare. Rev. Satish Torne introduced the meeting and condemned Gopichand Padalkar’s remarks. Then Rev. J.R. Waghmare read out the memorandum. Several dignitaries participated in the discussion regarding this memorandum.
Notable attendees included social activist Nalini Gaikwad, senior journalist Solomon Gaikwad, Saroj Alhat, Sanjeev Kakade, Pratik Barse, Mayur Patole, Balu Padale, Vijay Kakade, Rev. Sunny Misal, Rev. Martin Pardhe, Pastor Joseph Vairagar, Rev. The meeting concluded with a prayer by Rev. D.D. Sonawane and a blessing from Rev. Satish Torne. All attendees were urged to gather at 11:30 AM today at the Bishop House and proceed together to the District Collector’s office to submit the memorandum.
Demands of the Christian Community:
Immediate filing of an FIR against MLA Gopichand Padalkar.
Strict action under the Indian Penal Code.
Cancellation of his MLA post for making statements that incite religious hatred.
