Makhdoom Society Distributes Free Notebooks in Honour of Shaheed Brigadier Usman’s Birth Anniversary

To mark the birth anniversary of Brigadier Mohammad Usman, the Makhdoom Education and Welfare Society organized a free notebook distribution event for students at the Zilla Parishad School in Alamgir.
Brigadier Usman was one of the highest-ranking officers in the Indian Army who sacrificed his life during the 1947-48 Indo-Pak war. Despite being offered a position in the newly formed Pakistani army after Partition, he chose to serve India. He was martyred on July 3, 1948, in Jammu and Kashmir and was posthumously awarded the Mahavir Chakra for his gallantry.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shama Farooqui, Vice-President of the Society, said, “Brigadier Usman stands as a proud symbol of patriotism and unity. His sacrifice must be remembered and shared with the younger generation.”
The event was attended by Dr. Kamar Surur, Raju Bhai Shaikh, Akila Baji, Mukhtar Shaikh, Headmistress Shaikh Zakera, Shaikh Nasreen Bano, Shaikh Shagufta, Syed Shazia, Shaikh Shirin, and others.
The program featured cultural performances by students. Contributors like Vasant Pardhe, Srikant Sontakke, Dr. Daman Kashid, Hemant Narsale, Charuta Shivkumar, Abhay Kankariya, Adv. Gulshan Dharani and others supported the notebook distribution.
Dr. Kamar Surur emphasized that instilling patriotism in students by educating them about national heroes is essential. The program was anchored by Abid Dulekhan and concluded with a vote of thanks by Raju Bhai Shaikh.
