(Social) Noted social activist and sensitive writer Heramb Kulkarni was presented with the prestigious Girish Gandhi National Social Award at the historic Sevagram Ashram in Wardha. The award, comprising ₹1,00,000 in cash and a memento, was conferred by renowned social activist Dr. Abhay Bang.

(Social) Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bang said, “Heramb Kulkarni possesses a heart that is deeply disturbed by social questions, the ability to articulate those questions through powerful writing, and most importantly, the activism to seek answers beyond mere words. Social recognition through such awards brings important issues, like the challenges faced by single women into the public eye.”
(Social) While accepting the award, Heramb Kulkarni said, “Today, even bringing the issue of poverty to public attention has become a challenge. Sensitizing the youth and the middle class towards social issues is the biggest challenge of our times.”
The program began with an introduction by Bharti Zhade of the S. M. Zhade Foundation. To mark the occasion, a special youth camp titled “Majbooti Ka Naam Mahatma Gandhi” was organized, which witnessed the participation of 120 enthusiastic young individuals from across the country.
The event, held in the serene and historic environment of Sevagram Ashram, added a profound spiritual and inspirational touch to the ceremony.
