Maundy Thursday, considered one of the most sacred and significant days in Christianity, was celebrated in Ahmednagar with great faith and devotion. In remembrance of the Last Supper shared by Lord Jesus Christ with His disciples, the Holy Communion ceremony was conducted in a deeply spiritual atmosphere at Ahmednagar First Congregation C.N.I. Church.
On this occasion, a large number of Christian devotees gathered and reflected on the teachings of love, sacrifice, and service of the Lord. The humility shown by Lord Jesus Christ in washing His disciples’ feet and His message of loving one another were especially emphasized.
Moderator Episcopal Commissary Bishop Rt. Rev. Remson Victor of the Nashik Diocese explained the significance of Maundy Thursday in his message. “The path of love, humility, and service shown by Lord Jesus Christ should be embraced by everyone in their lives. Faith should not remain only in words; practicing it in life is the true essence of religion,” he expressed powerfully.
At the same time, a Confirmation ceremony for newly initiated youth of the congregation was also conducted by Bishop Remson Victor. Through this ceremony, the youth reaffirmed their faith and pledged to lead a value-based Christian life.
The program was attended by Priest-in-Charge Rev. Satish Torane, Rev. Deacon Nutan Kamble, along with several other dignitaries from the congregation.
