To rejuvenate Marathi theatre and to encourage the creativity of both emerging and established writers, the ‘Drama Writing Competition 2026’ has been announced. This competition is jointly organized by Marathi Sahitya va Kala Seva and Kamakshi Creative, with the aim of fostering new ideas and producing quality literature in the Marathi theatre world.
A special feature of this competition is that there are no restrictions on the theme, and participants are given the opportunity to write a two-act Marathi play. The competition is open to all, and each participant can submit more than one script.
Scripts written between 1 January 2020 and 30 June 2026 will be accepted for the competition. However, the organizers have informed that the competition is paid (entry fee applicable).
