Indigenous | Gadchiroli Moving Towards Becoming a ‘Steel Hub’ – CM Fadnavis Inaugurates Major Projects

(Indigenous) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several key industrial projects of Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited (LMEL) in Konasari, Gadchiroli district. Speaking at the event, he stated that Gadchiroli is steadily progressing towards becoming a ‘Steel Hub’.

(Indigenous) “The focus will be on development without compromising Gadchiroli’s rich natural resources—its water, forests, and land. In the coming years, the district’s per capita income will rise, and Gadchiroli will become a leading district in Maharashtra,” the CM affirmed.

(Indigenous) The major projects inaugurated or launched by CM Fadnavis include- A 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) iron ore grinding plant at Hedri. An 85 km long slurry pipeline with a capacity of 10 MTPA from Hedri to Konasari. A 4 MTPA pellet plant at Konasari. A 4.5 MTPA integrated steel project (foundation stone laid). A 100-bed hospital, a CBSE school, and residential quarters for Lloyds employees. These projects are expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities and significantly improve the standard of living for local residents.
The event was attended by Minister of State for Finance and Planning and Guardian Minister of Gadchiroli Adv. Ashish Jaiswal, Padma Shri awardee and social worker Tulsi Munda, MLAs Dharmaraobaba Atram and Dr. Milind Narote, Special IG Sandeep Patil, District Collector Avishant Panda, DIG Ankit Goyal, SP Nilotpal, Managing Director of Lloyds Metals B. Prabhakaran, Vice Chancellor of Gondwana University Dr. Prashant Bokare, and Konasari Sarpanch Shrikant Pawade, among others.
These developments mark the beginning of an industrial revolution in Gadchiroli, aimed at achieving sustainable and inclusive growth.
