Art | Rohit from Sangli receives praise from Rohit of Baramati; legislature’s cartoon sparks statewide buzz

(Art) Renowned young cartoonist from Sangli, Rohit Kabade, recently received direct appreciation from Baramati MLA Rohit Pawar. The MLA personally called Kabade to commend his political cartooning skills.

(Art) During the recently concluded monsoon session of the legislature, heated exchanges between the ruling and opposition parties made headlines. Against this backdrop, one of Kabade’s sharply critical political cartoons went viral on social media.

(Art) “Farmers, women, youth, teachers, students, workers every section in the state is facing serious issues. Crime is on the rise, and the state’s debt burden is increasing… And what are the people in power doing about it? The answer, a striking image I received on WhatsApp!” with these words, MLA Rohit Pawar shared the cartoon on his social media, targeting the government with the biting hashtag “#बघा_आणि_थंड_बसा” (“Look and stay cool”).

Notably, this cartoon has become a topic of conversation even within the Vidhan Bhavan premises, as Pawar himself informed Kabade.

“For a common artist’s creation to become the centre of political debate in the state, and for an MLA to personally call and appreciate it, this is truly inspirational and a matter of great pride for me,” said Rohit Kabade.
